Although very little "UL" stuff, the Alps Mountaineering gear can be great for base camp. If you're a Scouter, as are many here, check your emails for the ScoutsDirect Holiday sale codes. Mine just arrived and there are trekking poles, sleeping pads, tents, etc… even below the discount you're already eligible for.

As always, the SD rule about not posting the clearance prices is one that I'll follow in order to keep this deal alive for Scouters.

John, if you're a Scouter, then you can know all the prices, such as the 4 person, 2 lb. Cuben fiber dome tent for $57.00. Buuuuut, if you're not, the owners of the company that extend such deals ask that we not screw over their vendors by publishing prices at or under wholesale (depending on tier). So, if you're eligible, it's been shared. If not, no skin off your nose, bud.
