Old faithful Salomon pack needed some repair. Since shoulder strap came loose at the innermost stitches behind the shoulder (that's where all the stress goes when carrying on one shoulder) I decided to try spreading this peak stress to a longer area of stitches.

compare to the other shoulder strap sewn by the manufacturer. Time will tell if this system works.
There are so many beautifully built packs here that a beginner may feel himself quite handicapped. Here's my beautiful stitching:
