Is there a synthetic jacket out there made for taller people in that it has longer arms and a longer torso? Nothing fancy, just something that maybe has 3 or 4 oz in the body, a full zip and possibly a hood? Cheaper would be better. Thanks.

Check out cabelas "Teewinot primaloft systems jacket-tall". It does not have a hood and the tall is 90.00. Not sure of the weight. I do not own one but just noticed it whe looking for some tall shirts.

I would check out the first ascent igniter. It is hooded and primaloft. I think they have tall in most of their clothing. I have a regular xxl that I bought on clearance for less than 50$ last year and at 6'1" it could easily fit someone taller. It is not ultralight but it is lightish and warm.

BC's inhouse brand Stoic is cut to have long arms and long in the body (but otherwise slim), and is regularly discounted in a huge way on steep and cheap.

That example is $107 now, but has been sold for $39 on SAC. they have other synth jackets in the stoic line from various years. Searching geartrader for BC returns on new or almost new items is also a good way to pick up deals.

Patagonia micropuff is pretty long in the torso and the sleeves. The Nano puff is not as long.

The First Ascent is gone in the tall. The Cabelas one weighs about 23 ounces. The Patagonia one is quite price prohibitive for something that might only get 3-5 years use. The stoic one looks the best right now and I might try one out.

FYI even though the stoic has 100g of insulation it is pretty on par with 60g of primaloft one.

I have the stoic "luft" hoody, or whatever its called. I'm 6'5", thinish. I have a Large, it's 17 ounces on my scale. Has tons of bells and whistles. MASSIVE hood is made to fit over a helmet, but has a cinch cord that sizes it down nicely. Sleeves are barely long enough, length is a bit short but longer than most jackets I have. It is really warm (keeps me comfortable to just past freezing when sitting in camp with a t-shirt underneath, if that means anything), and very wind resistant. The wrist gaiters are really nice. The large is pretty tight, and I'm fairly thin. I would size up if I were to buy another one. Its been a nice piece of gear for mountaineering and winter hiking/camping. Hope this helps, good luck in your search.

Depending on your height and build I'd suggest checking out the First Ascent jackets in person if possible. Was just at their store and tried on some Small/Medium regular jackets – at 6'3" with long arms I could of used another inch in the sleeves, but the waist length was fine. Went with the Hyalite – it fit my tall, skinny build great, but that only has 60g of P1. If you're shorter than 6'3" I'd definitely at least give the Igniter a shot. Tomorrow they are having their "Cyber Monday" sale, 40% off everything bought online.

I would love to find mediums with more than a 30" Center-back-length. Also looking for synthetic insulating jackets.

I'm an unfortunate 'Small-Tall'. 6'4" 150lbs, finding things in an 'athletic cut' or 'trim fit' is ideal for me.
