All,

I just picked up some Backcountry.com 700ml TI pot/mugs to give away as gifts to a couple friends of mine who have organized a number of camping/hiking trips. $20 through S&C a couple of minutes ago. These come with a metal lid.

Does any plastic lids (from other applications) snap on these to use as a sipper lid? I know what fits on the SP600, but what about the backcountry 700ml pot? Both individuals are coffee drinkers and having a plastic lid where I could stamp holes in the top for drinking would be neat.

Here's the pot for reference:

Thanks in advance for your time.

I would recommend just taking the cup to you local grocery store and trying out different lids to snap on. Some of the items that might work are nuts, sour cream, yogert, coffee ect. Once you find one that will fit, just use a hole punch or knife to make a few holes to "sip" through.

It is sort of like a scavanger hunt. You could even get your kids to do it while you shop.

Thanks for the comments thus far. I have a SP600 and the folgers lid snaps right on. I'm hoping someone has done the legwork for this 700ml TI mug so I don't get strange looks at the grocery store taking lids off containers there. :)

I'm still looking for a sipper lid from another application for the Backcountry TI mug. Can't find one using the search function. I haven't had the time to go to the grocery store to "test fit" yet, but hope to soon. I know someone here has already done this with success. Thanks again in advance.

I found a Sipper Lid for my Snowpeak 700 pot for drinking coffee or tea on the trails.

I'm still looking for a sipper lid for the Backcountry 700ml mug if anyone has found something that works. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Edit: As an FYI, my 10 year old and I went to the grocery store today and tried over 100 different lids. None will work as intended on the Backcountry 700ml pot as a sipper lid. Hope someone can come through.
