I was in SA today and noticed a Columbia sleeping bag billed as "Ultralight Mummy Bag" I picked up the box and it says it weighs 16 oz. I was intrigued. Even more so that it was on sale for $39. I picked it up and stopped by a post office on the way to a meeting, being a bit suspicious. The bag itself, without the included compression sack, actually weighs 2.7 pounds, 43oz. it was returned.

drives me nuts…why cant they just shoot straight?

Wow, you could feel the difference between 1 lbs and 3 lbs just by holding it? Just kidding, the 16 oz is probably the weight of the fill material.

Yea, its just the fill, but the way the box states it, is very misleading. "Ultralight Mummy bag weighs just 16 oz" I figured I buy it just to see what it really weighed. Hard to tell in the store since it was in a box and wrapped in plastic and comp sac.
