I tried searching but the terms were too generic to turn up anything. I know there's a brand of bottled water whose caps fit platys. Is it Smart Water? The "official" caps are 6 bucks apiece on amazon!

I replaced my caps on my platys with heavy duty Nalagene pill bottles caps that will not break when stepped on.

I don't have any nalgene pill bottles, though I could check the local outdoors store.
Ive carried pop bottle caps as back-up for years, and have used them on occasion. I'm in an airport far from my platypus, so I cannot run to the gear closet to check, but it is worth a try before purchasing more plastic objects.
I don't drink soda, actually, so no pop bottles around!
the regular and sportcaps from smartwater and o-water both fit. I prefer the pushpull style sportcap from o-water…better than the real platypua one, and durable. Mines over 1 year old and still ticking.
