gear swap forum suggestion

I really like that suggestion.

I like this idea.

It is a good idea, but I think that the search feature needs to be fixed/implemented directly into Gear Swap to have this idea work effectively.

If not, some sellers/buyers might not take the time to browse through the listings in the WTB/FS forums.

It'd be nice and quick for a seller/buyer to do a search for a WTB/FS thread before posting. It would also significantly reduce clutter and redundant postings.

But the current search doesn't really satisfy the needs for quickness/accuracy… just one more need to fix the search

Done. There are now two forums: Gear Swap: Selling and Gear Swap: Buying.

Stephen: the general site search has been fixed with an integrated Google search. To use the forum search effectively requires specific use of keywords and search limiters. We have no plans to change forum searches at this time.

Aw gee, it's only a partial solution.

Should be:

Gear Swap: Selling: No guns, knives or religious paraphernalia
Gear Swap: Selling: Stuff made by underpaid Asians and Indians and imported by rich, non-taxed American businessmen
Gear Swap: Selling: Stuff made by Americans who pay their taxes like patriots should
Gear Swap: Selling: Backpacking equipment never used by Gays
Gear Swap: Selling: Guns, knives, religious paraphernalia (never used by Gays)
Gear Swap: Selling: Gay stuff

I just busted a gut.

I think BPL.com should start a second web site called "BackingPackingLight Sell,Swap&Chaff.com".

Make it a membership site at $25 a year or $150 for life.

All Selling, Swapping and Chaffing on that site ONLY and to members ONLY.

That gets the Sellers, Swappers and Chaffers out of here and gives BPL.com some extra money.

I don't think it's working too well. I'm seeing a lot of WTB posts in the Gear Swap: Selling section. :(

I'm moving it back to one forum. It just worked better, more transactions.
