What are the prerequisites for thread deletion? I noticed a recent thread has been removed – just curious what constitutes a valid reason for thread removal, how is it done – at the request of who, etc… Are there rules, or regulations for thread removal?

Are you sure it was deleted? Sometimes a thread is under the wrong section, so an admin moves it to the correct section.

I almost never remove a thread unless it's spam. I made an exception today (felt charitable? tired?) and chided the original poster, who requested its removal.
