dry sack for sleeping bag

I used to use 12 or 15 liter sized bags.

i personally prefer a pack liner and no stuff sacks everything fits better fills the pack better but when i used a compression sack i liked the granite gear eVent uber its cuben with a eVent bottom to let the air out i used one sized for all my down items quilt, jacket ect.

Have you tried a trash compactor bag? I hate stuffing my WM bags in a stuff sack, and like many others here have turned to using a trash compactor bag. Way easier to get the bag in and out of and the compression comes from putting the rest of your gear on top of it. Conforms to the bottom of your pack as well.

I am a bit paranoid about wet down bag. I use trash bag pack liner but I want to double sleeping bag protection as well.

largest you can tolerate is best

you can always squeeze it down smaller, but a drybag type enclosure when rolled down good wont do that unless it has an event panel

do a good job with the pack liner and its just dead wt.

The ones made out of Cuben are real light, too.

I use one of Lawson's cuben rolltop bags. Looking at the sizes he makes, it's probably 12×24, though possibly a 10×20.

I roll it just enough to fit it into the bottom of my pack.

I have the 10×20-inch cuben dry sack from Lawson, and also the Medium cuben dry sack (at 10.5×19 inches) from Zpacks. I like them both. I use one for my sleeping bag, and the other for my clothes. They are both feather light (only 0.7 oz!) and are made of the thicker, more durable Cuben. The Dawson bag is white, and the Zpacks bag is black. They are both roll-tops and waterproof. I do prefer the white color over the black, but the Zpacks bag has a velcro closure at the top which the Dawson bag doesn’t have.

I have the Spark women's nitro equivalent. I don't have a problem with the stock bag but supplement it with an oven bag– the kind you can roast a turkey with. The oven bag is waterproof, pretty tough, and big enough. I could probably replace the stock bag.

I've got that same bag. I try not to compress it to much because it seems to leak a little down when that happens. I just use a trash compactor bag as a pack liner, and it works great. I hiked an entire month without ever changing the bag and didn't spring a leak the whole time…

I've had good results with my Granite Gear Uberlight cuben dry sack, but any well built (bonded) cuben dry sack will work well. Get one that's a safe size, because you can easily roll it smaller and the weight difference when using cuben is tiny. It's worth avoiding the frustration of stuff a sleeping bag into too small of a sack. I use the 10L (or maybe it's 13L) size of the Uberlight sack and my Wife uses the 18L for her 15F rated WM down bag. A lot of the cottage guys (LawsonEquipment, MLD, Zpacks) makes some great cuben dry sacks which would be my first choice.
