Hello all! I had some spare fabric stashed, so I decided to put it to use. I finished this pack up a few days ago and built the pouch today. I figured there were some new ideas in this one that may help some one. I haven't been able to weigh the Fishing pouch, but I was able to find a buddies scale (mine is M.I.A.) and weigh my pack. It was 7.2 oz fully loaded. 6.6 stripped I believe.

I decided that I needed a fishing pouch as the last trip I went on, I lost my fly box as it was squeezed out of my pocket. I need to find good, comfortable, light cord to use around my neck though. I can run the fly pouch around my waist or neck.

Originally I thought about just making a modular pack. Then I figured out I could have a multiple use gear added to the front, instead of just single use pouch. The side loops on the webbing belt are there so that I can add a hipbelt pocket there. I am waiting on a zipper, but it should be here soon.

I eliminated the typical seam on front corner, instead placing it in the center so that I could attach the shock cord to the front to compress the pack better and give more useable area to lash wet gear.no pouchFront with pouchLashingside<pouch frontimg src="/backpackinglight/user_uploads/1316212731_49093.jpg" alt="back" width="550" height="309">pouch backPack Back

I added a hipbelt pocket as another modular component. Also, I put some down that I received free from a fellow BPLer, a great gift, to use finally. It is a down beanie. Hipbelt frontHip belt backAttachmentSizehat

Michael,
I really like your idea of Ultralite weight military molle attachment pack. Using separate pouches to attach to the compression rings it's a really neat Idea and your craftsmanship is really nice on the pack.

I had Camp 7 panel loader extreme racing pack backpack about 20 years that had several metal triglides going down the front of the pack in two rows. The pockets would have 1" looplocks on each corner and the metal triglides would fit in to the loop locks to locks the pocks down to the pack. The pockets had different colors like red for first aid,Green, blue pockets. What I like about the pack also it had full length compartment with a zipper on top and tri ring on the inside to hook a 2 liter water bladder on each side that would balance the pack out.

I have question is the down photo at the bottom a bomber hat or quilt?

Thank you Terry. I like being able to switch the pack size around with different add ons. I've carried it around a little, and I hope to take it out this weekend. I have used the fishing pouch and was very pleased with it. I wound up using 550 paracord for a little more cushion and a cord lock to secure it. Very comfortable and does not get in the way, especially when carried like a sling pack.

That panel loader sounds very interesting. Having two rows of set attachment points certainly would give a tight anchor point. I like the idea, and will more than likely use a similar system on a future pack that my brother wants me to make for him. Thank you very much for the idea.

The down in the bottom is a hat. Now looking back at the picture, I can see scale is very difficult to tell. I had a few different trials to get a good fit, but this one fits excellently. It has a wicking fabric head band (thanks to Black Rock Gear for the idea).
Here is a picture that shows the scale.Better pic

Edited for visible picture of ruler.
