Kid’s pack

Wish I had seen this about 3 weeks ago. I just bought a clearanced out REI kids pack about three weeks ago for Santa to bring to my 5 year old son. It weighs about 2 lbs. Thats a great job you did! Next you will have to make him his own hammock! My son loves our hammock, but I don't think he would sleep in one alone.

On a side note, what sleeping bag is he using? or does he have a custom quilt too?

and where can I find that pack pattern?

he will have his own hammock, and UQ. i just have to get a bit of time before the 19th, when he officially turns five, to crank out such a thing(s).

i was going to do a TQ about 50" long, with double drawcord areas, one at the foot, and one a foot above that one.. like the old "grow into" montbell bags.

there are so many parents here with great stories and inspiration for taking our young'uns out more. i hope to get Wes out a couple times before winter.

I bought the REI Comet kids pack. Its 2.5lbs and has an aluminum stay. Lots of pockets which little boys like. Very durable pack. Says its good from 6-10 yrs old.

Te wa very cool kids pack you made . The color Orange is perfect easy to spot the kid if he wanders off.
