I see a lot of new names posting.
Bump
Mar 31, 2013 at 8:34 am #1971334Tried to add a pin for myself a few times, but can't see myself on the map yet. Maybe just needs time to update? Anyhow, I will keep an eye on it and make sure it worked. I will be the first person living in Scandinavia on the map :)
Mar 31, 2013 at 8:39 am #1971336i see you on the map twice Cesar. I sure hope to make it over there sometime.
Mar 31, 2013 at 8:41 am #1971338I just deleted my first try, thanks for checking Ken.
It's a pretty cool place, you should man. If you do let me know and maybe I can show you around :)
Apr 1, 2013 at 9:39 pm #1971897My little dot in eastern nevada looks pretty lonely between the swarms of cali and colorado, even though my back yard is a national park. I think Great Basin is the least visited national park in the US…..ALL MINE
Apr 11, 2013 at 7:28 pm #1975531Makes me feel better knowing that I'm not the only one stuck in boring Ohio.
May 25, 2013 at 7:08 am #1989614Drop a pin for yourself. See where everyone is. Represent. Instructions/links are in the first post.
I will add you if you wish. Just PM me.
May 26, 2013 at 12:28 pm #1989916It took a few minutes before the blue pin appeared. I'm not sure if that's because this is the first time I've used this google feature or not but just wanted to throw that out there in case someone else encounters this.
May 26, 2013 at 6:36 pm #1989983I'm on there now. Thanks Ken! There are two other BPL'ers within 90 mins of me. Who knew.
Ryan
May 31, 2013 at 9:22 pm #1992059On the map now too. yay!

Jul 4, 2015 at 9:14 am #2212158Not that anyone else would necessarily want it…
Jul 7, 2015 at 10:43 am #2212917Flagstaff, AZ
Jul 8, 2015 at 9:11 pm #2213371Exactly. I ran away from the snow and forgot to come back… Boston —-> San Diego
Jul 8, 2015 at 9:56 pm #2213379I'm now on the map. There are a lot in Nor-Cal
Jul 8, 2015 at 10:09 pm #2213382Soon to be a Ute. Salt Lake City-bound next month!
Jul 8, 2015 at 10:15 pm #2213383Four year later, and I'm STILL on the map.
Alaska is way over-represented, per-capita on many fronts, such as: suicides, gun ownership, snow machine deaths, domestic violence, pilot's licenses, (low) population density, avalanche fatalities, (negative) taxation rates, bear attacks, Spam consumption (not really, we're second behind Hawaii), boating deaths, registered motor vehicles, and really stupid "reality" TV shows.
So I checked how we were in BPL representation. 4 in Alaska (plus more that I know of, but they aren't on the map) versus 8 in my home town of San Francisco which, while 14,000 times smaller, is about the same population.
So, apparently, like disco, shag carpet, non-smoking restaurants, acknowledgement of the 2008 and 2012 Presidential-election results, and acceptance of climate-change science; UL backpacking principles are taking many years longer to arrive up here.
Jul 9, 2015 at 8:59 am #2213425One more added for the Sunshine State!
Jul 10, 2015 at 2:15 pm #2213794I'm not on
Jul 10, 2015 at 2:44 pm #2213800Durham City UK, and no I don't really live in Durham Castle.

Jul 12, 2015 at 9:31 pm #2214303Only 7 people in whole of the UK – and then only 4 in the rest of the Europe? :(
Sep 30, 2017 at 10:45 pm #3494143Is this still a thing?
I can not get the map to load ……..
Sep 30, 2017 at 11:24 pm #3494145Interest petered out.
Oct 30, 2017 at 10:55 pm #3499379I’m still on the map, and still in the same town, if that’s any consolation.
Oct 31, 2017 at 3:39 am #3499419Me too. It still works, so have at it.
