Anybody know where to buy one of the replacement lids for the Snow Peak 700 Trekker? The lids are made out of aluminum instead of steel and have a nice wooden knob on top of them. I've seen them in posts here before but can't seem to find anyone who still has them for sale.

Four Dog Stove. They used to sell them, not sure if they still do. Jason Klass also sold them for awhile but he stopped and sent customers to Four Dog.

ah yeah that's about as far as I had gotten, I sent four dogs an email Monday and haven't heard back from them. Just checking to see if I had missed something.

If Four Dog isn't selling them anymore you might want to send an email to Tinny at minibulldesign and mention that to him. He sells a 600 lid and maybe he could be talked into making a 700 lid if he knew nobody else was selling them. Just a thought.

When I bought my 4 Dog lids last winter, they weren't listed on his web site. But a simple e-mail took a day or two, and he responded with a nice offer for my 4 lids. They arrived quickly.

Thanks for the responses everyone,

I actually have emailed tinny and he doesn't make one for the Trek 700

And upon further inspection (aka the magnet test) it seems that the lid that comes with the Trek 700 is actually the titanium one from their website, its just such a thick gauge titanium it makes it seem heavy like steel.

I guess i'll shoot four dog another email and see what happens.

Its not metal but a jet boil lid off the pcs works great and snaps on tight I would not want to use it over a wood fire but I always carry some foil for that. Are you trying to save weight or get a better fitting lid or ????

I'm mainly trying to save some weight while retaining an actual lid rather than just some foil, but that wooden knob on the four dog stoves lid looks like a lot better solution than the little metal tab on the original lid as well.

thanks for the tip about the jetboil lid, I've got a friend with one and ill have to see if he will let me borrow his lid and see how that works out

Find some aluminum sheet cookie sheet turkey pan ect. Lay your mug down on top of it upside down trace along the outside. Cut then trip to perfect fit a dremel works nice to get burrs out. The find the center drill a small hole that a small bolt will fit through screw a wire nut down onto the bolt and your done you may have to expirent with hole size as well as bolt size pm me your email and I'll email a pic if you'd like

Cut the aluminum out of pie tin bottm, etc. use a little bit of foil tape (heat/AC duct tape or muffler tape) as the handle. Mine for snowpeak 600 weighs 0.07 oz. Close to 1 oz wt savings vs the "heavy" aluminum lid with wood knob.

The jet boil lid will not save weight it's actually a few grams heavier it's just much more better
