Aug 23, 2011 at 5:28 am #1772146Thanks, Ryan. I'm glad that you're still reading the reports.
Gary, thanks. In light of the incident in Olympic National Park last year, the thought of being gored did cross my mind.
Once,in the Medicine Bow Range, a gang of mountain goat ruffians tried to shake me down for my lunch. On another occasion, while descending Eccles Pass in the Gore Range, a mountain goat above me dislodged a boulder than bounced down the mountain and narrowly missed me. I can't say for certain, but there seemed to be a smirk on his face.
I'm lucky this goat was mellow.
