I just checked this pack out today and have a question for others who have looked at it. Does it seem REALLY REALLY small for a 60 liter pack? I held it up next to an Exos 58 (both stuffed with pillows) and the GG look half the size. I then held it up next to a BD Epic 45 and it and the GG looked almost the same.

Is it me or does Granite Gear have a weird way of measuring the total volume of their packs?

They include a good portion of the extension collar to get to 60L. Appearances can be deceiving.

I had a blaze ac 60….and loved it. However I sold it because I kept telling myself that it was just too heavy. Having gone through a couple more packs…I again ordered the ac 60 and will call it my final pack for a while. It's just so dang comfortable.

Even coming from an arcteryx bora 80, it is still plenty roomy for me for weeklong trips in the rockies, carrying the largest bearikade inside, and my foam pad on top of the main sack (which works very well for me).

I absolutely love it.

i know this is an old thread, but i just bought this and used it on a 2 day 20 mile trip. it's VERY comfortable and does look really small, but it's because the material is so stretchy. it's just one big container mostlyso it can serve as a day pack or a multi-day pack easily. it's very versatile. a nice mix of light weight and durability.

*Nods* My pack is a Granite Gear Vapor Trail supposedly 58 liters and I've noticed also that it seems smaller, so it makes sense if they are counting using the extension collar, which I don't.

I have the Blaze and use it as my "large" pack (ULA Ohm 2.0 for shorter trips). The AC60 replaced a Vapor Trail which my son inherited. Both are compact packs and yes some of the capacity is in the extendable top. I like that concept as it keeps the pack more compact when you don't need the total capacity.

Entirely agree with Fred, the versatility of this pack is spot on. My only complaint is why did they have to make it dark brown?? Where searching for something within the main compartment becomes nearly impossible (because its so dark) and leads to an entire pack dump. Not a deal breaker what so ever… but still frustrating at times.
