While rambling about in an old mining area of California, I stumbled upon some relics at a 120-year-old gold mine. This is a miner's stove, made out of an old steel can. The air intake is on the lower right. Then some twigs and pine cones would be burning inside. The miner would place his coffee pot or cook pot on the top. Simple as that.
This stove was dug in as if they were living and mining there for a long time. There was also a trash pile of old rusting steel bean cans and some tobacco cans.
This is a forerunner of modern woodburning stoves.
Yes, the miners found the mineralization vein in the mine, but I don't believe that it was rich.
