I'll add my voice to the satisfied POE Peak Elite pad owners. I sleep on it much better than I did on my neoair. To be honest, I'm not sure why, but I do. It does seem a little wider to me than the neoair. My regular came to around 10 oz as well. My first one had a hole in it and I was able to get a new pad, so I wouldn't worry too much about the warranty – which is lifetime. I also have an exped synmat UL. It's my favorite out of the 3, but it has a similar price point as the neo air.

…and I was genuinely confused as to why everyone was in an uproar in that one thread.
Even if I could make better sense of it, I'd rather get a pad because I like it, than for its warranty.
The Neo air is my choice because I am over 50 and sleep on my side. I find with anything less in thickness my hip bones just feel like they've been kicked the next morning. I think I would prefer to sleep on a downmat or similar but prefer the Neoair weight. My wife sleeps more on her stomach and is an asthmatic. She finds the neoair (in fact any air mattress) pushes harder against her lungs and she strongly dislikes it. A traditional self inflating or foam pad suits her more.
I think this highlights the main difference in who likes what. For the most part back or stomach sleepers are happy with thinner pads and side sleepers seek the extra thickness.
I do know when I come to a hut I prefer to see the others there with neoairs or downmats as I find that back sleepers include the worst snorers… :-)
I have found the Kookbay pad to be a great alternative. I own two Kookbays and one Neoair. I also have some foam pads.
I have owned both the NeoAir Trekker, and the POE peak elite. I thought the neoair was great, i just wanted something lighter. I loved the weight of the POE, but it felt a lot smaller, and i sleep on my side, so my hips were always touching the ground if i moved around in my sleep.
I slept on the neoair for around 30 nights or so, and the POE for 10 nights. I ended up returning the POE, because it was so uncomfortable for me. But, that just my takes.
+1 on the Kooka Bay pads- we have 3 and some foam pads. Cost less than the NeoAir.
Custom Sizing is another reason we chose Kooka Bay. About to order another one
Ordered a Stoic LTWT from Steepandcheap. Thanks for everyone's advice!
I returned my NeoAir after freezing in not so freezing conditions and got an Exped Synmat UL7 instead. Ymmv.
