So, we have Cuben tents and backpacks, now how about a Cuben/foam air mattress along the lines of a Thermarest Prolite?

Just think – a self inflating mattress at 10 oz.!

Too bad AeroGel can't be resiliant and pop back into shape like foam. That would make THE lightest filler. But then how would you glue it to Cuben fabric? In fact COULD foam be glued to Cuben fabric?

Cascade Designs, Big Agnes et al, are you listening? Have you looked at a light Dyneema fabric as a cover?

I think the fact that used/weathered cuben is not airtight could be problematic. If you feel strongly that improvements are possible, why not make a prototype?

My POE Peak AC is 10 3/4 ounces.

I don't think cuben fiber would be the best fabric for an air mattress because I believe the stretchiness of the fabric prevents punctures by distributing the pressure.
