I have no direct experience with inflatable pads as I use CCF but I had to help a friend in search of an inflatable replacement and I’m inclined to recommend one of these air-only pads. I have more than enough info about the Neo-Air but it turns out too expensive. Then there’s these two:
to which I have quick, local access.
There’s quite some info available on the POE one whose R value seems to be 2.0 – 3.0 but I don’t know exactly what that variation means… different insulation in different areas, maybe? How can that be in an air-only mat?
Camp has no information about R values (I already asked the brand).
The intended use is 3 season, for a reasonably cold-sleeping lady that no matter what inflatable mat, will use a 1 cm (2/5″) CCF pad under it.
My question is: would you recommend any of those two mats? I particulary wonder about the Camp Essential Light for several reasons: on the plus side, it’s incredibly light and compact, it’s good quality stuff and a reasonable price. On the minus, I don’t have the R value neither any user experience; it’s non-insulated, quite thin (just 3.5 cm or 1 2/5 “).
I’d love first hand experience, particularly with the Camp mat but also your qualified opinion given the intended use. If everything turns out wrong, I’ll take the blame myself :)
