I was touring REI last night and found a product called Niteline, made by PMI. It is reflective and glows in the dark too. It is supposed to glow for 8 hours after a ten minute exposure to bright light. Fair enough for guy lines, but I bought it for making a lanyard for my essentials– whistle, compass, micro light, firestick and such. $0.30 per foot at REI.
Dale, I use that too. It reflects brigthly, but only at a very steep angle of incidence perpendicular to the light source. And the glow is so dim as to be unusable. But its better than plain cord. I think fluorescent cordage would be great but can’t find any.
Also at REI I bought the glow in the dark zipper pulls and put them on my keychain, etc.. again very dim and fades fast.
