overall, 7252gThanks to this community I have not only lowered the weight through simplifiying the gear. I love this way of reducing gear/weight/bulk. examples:
– alc stove: homemade, cheap, simple.
– shelter: cheaper than a tent, smaller, easier to handle, closer to nature, etc.Where do you see additional possibilities of easily shedding weight by adding simplicity? Rain gear? Replace expensive rain gear with cheapo driducks? any further ideas of the same kind?
cheers,
Jul 21, 2011 at 2:34 am #1761519Looks like a nice list —
I'd switch the cotton boxers and cotton socks out for wool boxers and wool socks.
Bit heavier but much better warmth, especially when wet — and very, very soft and comfortable in merino wool.
Ibex boxers, for example — http://www.ibexwear.com/shop/products/2/95/mens-boxers
Icebreaker probably has boxers, too.
One choice for socks, Smartwool Light Hikers — http://www.rei.com/search?query=smartwool+socks+hiking+men%27s
Jul 21, 2011 at 3:09 am #1761521Nice list! Is 10ml alcohol enough for 1-2 days?
Jul 21, 2011 at 3:33 am #1761523"Is 10ml alcohol enough for 1-2 days?"
The weight of the alcohol is missing from calculation, so there could be more than 10ml.
Jul 21, 2011 at 4:18 am #1761529exactly…. took this from an xls spreadsheet… the alcohol is 5 x 10ml so 50g….
