Intreresting about all the lexan shovels breaking. I, like Bob used a Life Link for nearly 30 years before giving it to a friend that is still using it. Same with a big folding Ramer lexan shovel. Used them both hard with no problems.
I did destroy both a Voile and a Life Link aluminum bladed shovel. The blades just folded in consolidated snow.
That said I now mostly use a Black Diamond aluminimum shovel.
