I use those too — not for any real night hikes, but great for camp use. Unlike with headlamps, there's a lot less chance of "accidentally" shining the light into people's eyes because we're so use to looking at people when talking to them. :)

maybe if you wait for "the gambler's sale" it will go down to $9 to $11

regardless of where you buy it that's a nice light

Best thing about the Photon Freedom is that it you can put it into strobe mode and have an instant dance party!

Ya and being able to be seen for miles away people have mistaken it as a destress signal. SAR has been known to turn back around when they can hear the KC and the sunshine band music. Thank God I was always the one in the disco sucks T-shirt
