What do you do for shoe sizing for long hikes. Do you size up 1/2" to 1" at the start and use more socks or extra footbed or you you size up along the hike, Thanks all
Jul 7, 2011 at 12:06 pm #1756868If your pack weight is above 30 lbs most of the time then go 1/2 size larger than street shoes B/C your feet WILL spread out. Blisters between Each toe on a 100 mile AT hike taught me that in the '80s. :(
Strangely it only hurt when I stopped walking so being in camp was quite uncomfortable.
