With the latest annoucements of the Olympus micro 4/3rds cameras I think it is time I stopped buying backpacking gear and switched over to the much more expensive proposition of buying camera gear.

The three new bodies weigh with battery and card 254g, 313g and 369g. And they have released a new 45 F1.8 lens weighing in at 114g. This means you can now put together a DLSR quality kit of:

    EP Body 9-13 oz
    45 mm F1.8 4 oz
    20 mm F1.7 3.5 oz
    14 mm F2.5 2.5 oz

The total weight assuiming you go with the lightest body is 18.5 oz and you cover a good number of key focal lengths and have excellent speed at all focal lengths.

My only concern is the control interface on the Pen Mini doesn't appear to have an easy way to adjust exposure while shooting. I am fine going to the menu to adjust iso and most other functions but I want to be able to dial in exposure compensation without having to take the camera away from a shooting position. So I might have to step up to the EPL3 or EP3 which would add up to 4oz.
