Which do you all prefer

I'm looking into a pot for a bush buddy ultra wood stove.
I'll only ever boil water for freeze dried meals and have my coffee in the pot/mug.

Is the coating worth it ?? or not for my applications.

I'm looking at the Evernew Titanium pots coated/uncoated or the snowpeak 900.

The uncoated ones list as lighter.

The uncoated ones are slightly lighter. The coating can be handy if you do lots of complex cooking or with sauces that you don't want to burn. However, for just boiling water, you don't need the coating.

If all you are doing is boiling water AND it is over a fire go with uncoated. Fire is pretty harsh on those thin and delicate linings.

IMO, save the cash and go plain.

And I'll say it: The worst pot you can buy to actually cook in is Ti. If one wants to ever cook get a thin HAA instead with a non-stick lining. Ti has one setting: Desert Blast.

There has been some health concern about teflon coated pots and pans. I've been told its fine as long as you don't overheat the pot or get it scratched. Well, cooking on a backpacking stove you don't have super good control over the temperature and accidental scratching of the coating seems like a possibility as well. So uncoated it is.

My MSR Whisperlite is more adjustable than many would lead you to believe. I'm not a gourmet cook out in the field, but I've found cleanup and convenience to be fantastic with my coated pot. It probably weighs more than I need to carry, but I can live with that. If you're actually going to cook meals and not just boil water and make soups, I'd recommend trying a coated pot. I love the no-hassle aspect. As for plastic toxins leeching into my food, I reckon I can live with that as well. I drink a lot of tap water and grew up in farm country drinking tap water. I'm likely ingesting all kinds of nasty, cancerous stuff. Those few meals on the trail ain't of much significance.
