Uh, didn't Ron post information here as a means to let those of us who are not on Facebook know what his "firm" is doing?

I don't think that he is insisting that anyone has to use Facebook to know what is going one with his company.

He is simply being smart and utilizing a resource that a lot of people use to inform them of what is going on with his company.

On a practical level, it would be a lot more work and cost to have updates like these on his website.

Places like Facebook and the BPL Forums makes it easy and quick to give people a quick shout out about what is going on with his company.

The bits of information that he is giving out is aimed at "fans" of MLD and helps to generate a little bit of pre-buzz of new and upcoming things.

More importantly, it simply keeps the MLD brand and company ever present in fans and loyal clients minds when he releases little bits of information like this out.

Any future products will be listed on Ron's site when it is available for sale…the fact that he chooses to let a people know via Facebook or the BPL forum is no reason to take offense and does not slight anyone.

Bottom line, if post on Facebook, BPL, or any other site helps generate any pre-ordered or help generate sales it is a smart thing for Ron to do.

P.S. I would not condemn anyone for having concerns about security & privacy. I also don't have a Facebook account and only learned about "this" from Ron's posting on BPL.

I was having tents built out of spinaker fabric back in 1993. It was not as light as spinntex, but silnylon was not available to me either. They were eight sided pyramids built steep for snow loads. The no sag spinaker helped allot in the snow load department.

Back on topic: I thought we were getting a cuben hybrid Prophet. Am I remembering incorrectly Ron, or did that project get cancelled?

Hi,

Yes, we did put the cuben packs on hold until we get the new Exodus S launched.

Another reason was that the cuben does not save muich weight unless you radically cut features. Example,: the fabric in the Prophet is about 60% of the pack weight and the rest is hardware, etc. We know that most users would rather have great strenogth, features and longterm duribility vs a cuben version only a few oz lighter.

Of cpurse this sounds odd from MLD since we had some of the lightest and very first Cuben Packs. We still have plans for some cuben packs but the Exodus S will be a much bigger deal amd we are ramping up for that now.

On the plus side of the cuben versions on hold is that we are almost caught up on paxk orders with some Burn, Prophet and Exodus in stock. Some pack ordesr placed Wed were shipped Thur.
