I have a pair of Patagonia Alpine Guide pants. I love them but, while climbing Mt. Baker today i got a few holes in them from my crampons. What I want to do is take a old pair of Gaitors cut them up, and attach the cordura to the inside of the pant leg where i put a few holes. Would this be just as easy as cut and sew?

I am not good at sewing so if there is anything special I need to do let me know.

It can be that easy. Make 1/2" creases around the shape you want, fold over then iron them flat. This will make the sewing part a LOT easier. I also would suggest purchasing a small quantity of cordura (500 or 1000 denier) and sew it on instead of used fabric.

Seattle Fabrics sells as little as 1/2 yard, if I remember correctly.

Hope that helps!

You can get iron on patches

Like at the local fabric store, or from some online place
