I came across this great way to compare similar gear while researching the new GG Meridian Vapor. It starts with a baseline (in our case lightest?) item, then colors alternates with green (better) or red (worse) in certain categories. And the sliding ‘Variance Bar’ adjusts the thresholds for what is allowed into the comparison.. brilliant!
So, we can easily see the Vapor Ki (in this case), is bigger, AND lighter, AND cheaper! Cool.
I am going to try and adapt my Unnecessarily Detailed Gear Inventory Spreadsheet (UDGIS) to rank items in the same category like this. And I think the great comparison tables in BPL reviews could be similarly color coded.
