Much to Newton's delight I'm sure ;) I've finished, for the most part, my second pack. I wanted something really rain resistant so I tried to limit the seams.
1/2 inch webbing throughout except the waist belt which is 1 inch.
500 denier cordura for the back and base.
Blue fabric was sold as zero porosity ripstop and seems to be pretty waterproof, though I'd love to know the actual HH.
9.25 oz and around 1500 cubic inches for the main pack body, though the collar is around 10 inches long so it can be increased.

Rob,
Very nicely done roll down closure! I'm impressed.
I like the pad pocket for the virtual frame even though the pack looks pretty "tight" already.
Very neat compression system.
What are the pockets made out of and do you plan on using them for water bottles?
9.25 ozs. and 1500 cubic inches is a job well done! ;-)

Great job on the great looking pack! I like the compression system, very nice!
Rob,
Nice looking ultra lightweight silnylon pack you designed with less seams it should be very water resistant. I also like how you used 1/2 inch webbing all the way around to cut down on the weight.
Terry
Thanks Christopher and Terry for the compliments!
Newton the pockets are made from ripstop nylon. I bought it about a year ago as parachute seconds. From the best I can gather it's just 1.1oz that I've dyed black. It was white originally.
Not sure if I'll use them for water bottles as the first thought was for wet gear. I think there may not be enough room for them all, should've gone with my gut and made the material longer and thus more expandable. I really like your carrier on your new pack so may consider something similar.
Sorry double post due to sporadic internet.
