I've been bit by Great Basin rattle snakes twice, they can leave some nasty, long to heal, wounds. The first one that got me had been trampled by sheep and could not rattle. He did not like being stepped on, and I disliked being bit even more. We fortunately dont have Water Mocs or Copper Heads out west. I dont know about Copper Heads, but Rattle snakes are a delicacy, but not for everyone.
