Just trying to check something out. I ordered a backpack and food bag from ZPacks (Joe Valesko) back on March 27th. The waiting time was posted as 6-8 weeks.

After 9 weeks I emailed Joe at ZPacks to get an idea of the estimated shipping date. I never got a reply. I waited another week, then emailed again. This time I gave all the particulars of the transaction, in case he needed them to look up the order. I never got a reply. It's now almost 11 weeks since I placed the order and I'm wondering what's going on. Joe always answered his emails promptly in the past.

I contacted PayPal to see if they had any way I could contact ZPacks, or if they could contact ZPacks for me. I was told that on any transaction older than 45 days past the payment date I was on my own.

Don't take this as an effort to smear ZPacks, just a shout out to see what's going on.

Has anyone else received stuff from Joe Valesco (AKA ZPacks) lately?

I have done business with Joe Valesko before and never had a problem. He always got stuff shipped out on or close to the original delivery date.

I want to keep doing business with ZPacks as long as that's still a posibility. The workmansip was always first rate, and I always got what I ordered. Just wondering if he's away on a hike, or injured, or whatever.

I just ordered some stuff stacks from Joe 2 days ago and they are currently in route right now. He's always good about responding to emails whenever I have ordered something.

I've ordered many times from Joe and he answers my emails on the same day. I'd say he's not getting your emails…. He values BPL business and will do all he can to make you happy.

Hello Mike, I don't have a record of any emails from you since you placed your order. Maybe the email address was incorrect- please double check. The correct address is valesko@gmail.com

I normally prioritize any orders that have requested due dates. Because of that some orders without due dates are running late. I'll make sure to have your pack in the mail ASAP. Sorry about the miscommunication!

Joe, thanks for getting back to me! I don't know why you didn't get my earlier emais. Your email address in in my "contacts list". I just sent another one using my hotmail account.

I glad to see that you're OK. I thought something might have happened to you, since it's so unlike you to no reply to emails!

I have recently replaced my computer. The old one crashed and burned. I now have Windows 7 which uses a different email system. But I haven't had any problems emailing anyone else.

Any chance you have a new or updated antivirus or firewall program? I have Norton 360, and went through a spell (on my old computer) where it was flagging some inbound mail as Junk. I even put a few long time friends on a list of blocked address and domains.

Post me here if you don't get the latest email (sent today).

Zpacks was the last place I thought to see complaints about service. Glad to hear you guys hooked up. I've had nothing more than abuot 12 hours wait after emails. Exemplary.

Yes, Joe has always been top-notch. I aspire to his level of customer service in my own business.

I was very satisfied the 2 or 3 times i bought from him.
His international shipping rates are low too :)

Great to see that he got back with you here on the boards. I have received a couple of items in multiple orders from him over the last few months. I have always found him to be right on top of things. If I have questions I email him and he usually responds back within a few hours and my orders always seem to arrive very quickly.

(I know that the issue has been settled, but have been super happy with all of my experiences with Joe and just wanted to share them!)

As far as why they may not be going out, there is no chance that your email hasn't been taking over by a spam bot huh? A good while back this happened to me. I noticed no one was getting my emails, and then I got an email from someone from my contacts list that said my email was spamming everyone on the list. The fix was to change my password and then it was better. I guess that some sites will block mail or anything incoming from addresses that have been noted to be spamming…

(Sure someone else could explain this better than I did…)

@ Joe Valesko.. just a thought.. many of us would love to see you create a Facebook page for ZPacks. Its one of the best ways to give fans your updates, sales, announcements etc.. I know many of us here are FB fans of MLD, Gossamer, etc.

2nd, I ordered a Blast 26 from Joe fully aware that he has a backorder time of 8 weeks. Pack came in 5 weeks, slightly less. BTW, the Zpacks Blast is a fine item. the newer wrap around hipbelt is a great improvement over the 'wings' of yesteryear.

thanks to Joe, im still finding ways to improve my gear list.

I have a couple of shelters and some stuff sacks from Joe. Great quality and customer service from Joe. He has worked with me on some custom sizes for stuff sacks. I'll definitely order from him again.

One point that does stick in my craw a little bit with some cottage companies though. If someone places in order after mine and states they need it by such or such date. Their order is moved ahead of mine? To me that is just not right. Orders should be filled in the sequence they are placed. If a person needs a product by a certain time, they should place their order early enough to accommodate that.

What if everyone who places an order states an earlier time needed then what is required to make the product?

Great company to work with! Everything I have received from Joe has been top quality.
I have a hammock tarp on order from Joe. I did let Joe know that I am not on a deadline for the tarp. I have an old tarp, heavy, but it works. He got back to me pretty much same day with a thank you. Rock on Z-packs!

Same here, it was a small order to be shipped to Canada and it was done much faster than expected. I will do business with them without questions.

When I read the OP's first post I was quite surprised, kinda figured it had to be a technical thing.

Joe and Zpacks, best service hands down. I always check the zpack website before any other manufacturer to see if I can get whatever I need there first.

Can't say enough about the service and products.

Can't say enough good things about Joe. Solid guy that does quality work and offers us what others can't or won't.

Joe was awesome to me when I sent an email from the trail asking for an item to be next to the next trail town.

+1 on Joe V's service and products

I had a lot of questions for joe about packs and shelters and he was super helpful and prompt. I ordered a hexamid twin with a special ASAP request and received it well before when I needed it. Shelter is working out great. Design and construction is flawless. Had it out in all night T-storms in rocky mountain NP last night and performance was also flawless. With the beak, its a 6 oz, 2 person mid shelter. No need for a bivy. Couldn't be happier with it.

I'm not buying it. Has anyone seen Joe and Michael in the same room, at the same time?

Are we sure they're not the same guy?

I reckon Joe posted this 'complaint' under another name, just to pull all these positive replies. Doulas Ide weigh in here. There's a scam that needs your BS detection skills!

Travis,

I'm thinking your time away has lost your sense of humor detection ability…
