Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a backpacking partner to do some backpacking trips this summer. I've done a lot of previous trips in the "Bull of the Woods Wilderness". I think this is what scared my friends away from backpacking because the trails in this wilderness can be quite difficult….especially with traditional backpacking weight. However I am now down to a 12 pound base weight and dropping as new gear comes my way.

Any takers?

Oh and I usually backpack with my dog Gunner, 1/2 Lab and 1/2 Weimaraner.

I am up in Olympia Washington.

Looking at doing a trip somewhere like the 14th to the 18th of August if you would be interested. Not sure where yet.

I am definitely interested when a backpacking trip comes my way. Maybe we can find a spot that is between us? I'm not very familiar with places in Washington.

A couple places between Olympia and Portland:

Mount Saint Helens – like Coldwater Peak or Mount Margaret

Goat Rocks – for example the Goat Lake Loop in the field guide

There are a couple people asking the same question at portlandhikers.org

Any idea on how far you want to hike? Like what daily mileage do you typically do?
