Huzefa us supposed to be on a trek until the 20th of June. All the stoves were supposed to go out on the 30th of May. I don't know if he was sending them personally or arranging for them to be sent. In any case, they should be arriving any day now.

D'oh! Of all the days to have to sit through a dance recital!

Did you have to sign for it? The postman was just half a block away when I left the house. Now I'm going to be wondering all evening if it's sitting on thee front step waiting for me.

I have that stove.
The weight on my scale (5g increments) is 155g.
With the plastic box ,instructions and cardboard box it would be about 2.5oz heavier.

Franco,

What are your thoughts regardging the stove?

Missed the postman on Saturday so I had to sign/pick-up at post office this morning. Without plastic box weight on my kitchen scale is 5.25oz/152g. Gave it a quick test in both upright and inverted modes with no issues. Planning on using a BPL Ti Esbit wing stove, minus Esbit "pan", for inverting the canister and maybe replacing the stove legs with Ti wire.

Hi Casey
difficult to say because so far I have only done some experiments with it and because it was over a year ago I forgot the results, however due to the fact that I still have it, it must have worked.
(by that I mean it must have been efficient enough for me)
There is a good range between low and high so I see no problems in simmering as well as having a good blast in the lower temps.
I did try out inverting the canister and that works out just fine.
This is the kit I will be using later this week.
Normally I have the Caldera Cone but because we may need to melt snow this is what I will take.
Winter stove kit
Winter kit set up
1.4l pot, short Caldera Cone and stove 345g.
(I am doing some weight lifting to be able to cope with the extra weight…)

I tested the stove on the snow.
First DO NOT USE THE SNOW CLOW as a base if you use a wind shield …
I have no idea what I was thinking when I posted that picture.
In reality I compressed down the snow as much as I could and let the stove sink into ity slowly.
When melting snow I also had to open up the cone because a bit of it melted. Worked fine after that.
As I was boiling my first cuppa my mates had some paint coming off their BD shovel , the base for their MSR XGK and that reminded that plastic is not a good stove base.

mine came in yesterday, 5.3 oz. i like how easy it looks to modify. was thinking of removing the metal frames and putting it in a can to use as wind shield pot holder. any recommendations for type of can?

Ryan
Originally I purchased that stove to modify and use with my Caldera Cone for the 550ml pot.
stove stripped vers
This was my mod. With the paperclip stand it is around 105g/4oz.
The Caldera Cone is the stand…
I can have the stripped down version with the shorter cone and 2 pegs but the weight saving is not worth the fiddling (for me…) in cold weather.
As you say , it is very easy to take apart and re-assemble.

Has anyone else NOT received their stove? I ordered four and I'm starting to get a little nervous… I expected the stoves last week. I leave for a road trip on Friday and won't be here to sign for or pick up anything.

Am I jumping the gun on the worrying?

Ken,

I am still waiting too.

I am calming my nerves by building a new pack or two. ;-)

thanks,
James

I fired it up in the kitchen. It seems to work fine. I'm going to cook up a few meals on it this weekend.

Thanks Huzefa. I hope to get a ton of use out of it.

Thanks Huzefa,

I got my stove in the mail this morning.

Today was like a mini Christmas. I got my stove from Huzefa, my XPAC material from Dimension Polyant and my Gutermann extra strength thread from JoAnn's.

Well, I got a stove in the mail Friday… Unfortunately, I ordered four, so three are in the wind somewhere.

Did anyone who ordered multiple stoves actually get multiple stoves? If so, did they come together, or did each ship separately?

Thanks,
Ken

The stove was mailed register mail, so I had to go to the post office to pick it up. Nice plastic case for storage at home. Stove works.
