Hey, just wanted to post the results of my first effort: quilt from thru-hiker. Took a lot longer than expected. Probably mostly because I could only do it one day here and there. Sometimes half days or just after work. Anyway, thanks to all of you for the information. Couldn't have done it without you.
3" baffles spaced every 5", 76" tall, 54" at widest point, 36" at narrowest. Sewn foot box. 15 ounces of down. It comes up over my head, which is what I wanted. I put a draw string around where the neck would be and one around the edge so that I can snug it up good. Super simple. No clips or velcro or buttons, though I thought about it. Was fun, but I'm not sure I'd do another one.
