My Marmot Goretex ski pants had a delam problem so they are giving me full credit (~300). Nice folks and much appreciated. Unfortunately, they don’t make that pant anymore so I can get different pants or use the credit to get other Marmot stuff.

I don’t know what’s good in their line nowadays (mostly bought Patagucci adn Arcteryx in the last couple of years). I have some older Marmot stuff like Belay Parka, Randonee gloves, old down jacket, old alpine/winter tent that were pretty good. Also had duds like their old spring gloves.

The closest to my old style are the “Marmot Randonee pants” which I have no idea about. I have also heard good things about the driclime windshirt (but I already have a Patagucci Houdini).

What would you recommend from Marmot if you were spending ~ 300-400 total ?

If you’re looking just for clothing I can recommend Marmot sleeping bags. Most of their clothing seems second-tier (weight-wise) for backpacking purposes, if that’s what your intended usage is.

Thier bags are right up there with the top names. Quality is top notch. I own 3 bags and also the precip line of rain wear and it is on the average for weight. 11 oz for the pants, 13 for jacket, sized XL. They are bomber and bushwhacking has not been a problem. Going on 3 years with them and not even a stitching problem.

Their updated line has the UL down inner jacket with pockets that is unbelievably light and warm…I have both the vest and pants for winter camping and would buy the jacket except my Golite Coal parka is still going strong…
