Those of you in the Denver/Boulder area may want to act quickly if you want to snag one at the warehouse clearance. There were only a handful left this afternoon.

We just got our hands on a production version of the Virga – so expect a spotlite review soon and a full review early in 2007.
Got my wife an XS Virga today. Weight is 7.5oz and fit is nice! Her XS Reed pants weigh 3.3oz!! My woman’s L Reed pants weigh 4oz. Almost prefer the woman’s large to the men’s medium. Picked up an extra 0.5″ of inseam without the bigger waist (my true waist is ~30.5″) but room for my biker quads. All for $90 total plus I talked to Skurka while I checked out.
Also picked the wife up a $50 Buzz jacket 12.8oz (Primaloft One) and a SS baselayer for $6. The Buzz is slightly heavier than my wife’s Micropuff but has more features (pockets) and a better woman’s fit. I’ll report back on her impression of their warmth later.
Dawn’s are $25, down jackets $100 and Hex 3’s are $150. We might see what’s still around tomorrow morning if I feel like braving the crowd again. Good time to pickup stuff you want to modify without paying full price and hacking it up.
Don, I’m looking foward to reading your reviews. By the way, my size medium weighs 8.3 oz. on my scale.
Christopher, yeah, those prices were unreal. I went in there intending to just buy a Virga but ended up with a Jam pack and other stuff as well. I tried the Jam out today on a snowshoe/picnic with my wife up to Emerald Lake. My impression of the pack so far is pretty positive.
We’re heading up there today to look for an item for a BPL member here as well as pick though the leftovers. Did you go yesterday?
No, we missed it. We didn’t arrive back at the Bear Lake trailhead until after sundown and the sale was closed for the day by then. Let me know what the last day of the sale is like. I’m curious to know if they put out any new items.
The clothes are pretty picked over with only large and XL sizes left in much of the men’s items. I ended up with some Tailsman pants for my dad (needs something a bit tougher for his daily bike commute than the Reeds), a Wisp for $20 and a Dawn for $25 to modify. My current winter setup doesn’t fit as well in my current packs and I was curious about the Dawn anyway. Should be great for my weekend winter trips with some extranous features removed. In the worst case I’ll steal the shoulder straps off it for another project.
Still have plenty of tents and packs. The hex3 was nice but when I looked at the construction I decided I could just as easily make one myself and save some money for a limited use item.
