The website says "patent pending". I'm not sure how… The design has been around for decades and is manufactured by a couple different companies (most have a slightly taller seat height). I've sat in those other chairs, which were comfortable enough for camp use, but always felt like I was going to bust them if I put my full weight on them (this was BEFORE I was 250 pounds). The lightest I've seen is about 24 ounces, but most ran around two pounds.

So I called them today and the lady said that it weighs 3 pounds. Then I read that it's the shipping weight. Even at 2 pounds, it's all a bit odd. They must wear pants with pockets made of steel because my pant pockets won't hold 2, much less 3, pounds. Strange. I guess I was hoping for the impossible: a lightweight portable chair.

What the eff???? Went to Bed, Bath, and Beyond today to check this thing out. I mean, really? Instead of wasting my money on that piece of crap, I bought an aluminium wallet. Yeah, it's that terrible.

I think the reason it is so big because the only people who would need to carry a chair around with them are fat people, which makes their pockets quite large. At least Santa Claus is magical, so he doesn't have top waste money on that garbage.

He just wishes for it for Christmas. But he is magical so I would rather wish for a Lovesack, but hey, that's just me. Oh, and I almost forgot. It weighs three pounds! I picked it up and thought, "Oooo, there must be a lot of instructions!". But no, it is just exercise for the fatties. I mean really? Come up with a practical device, like the aluminium wallet. Respect.

Nooooo waaay I'm sitting on that. Pull yourself up a 500 million year old chunk of granite, or a 200 year old log :)

You can get a 7oz hammock for $50, or a 12oz one for $15, and you can take a nap in it, let alone perching on a piece of junk like that!
