Hi everybody,

Just wondering if anybody knows if their is a water source such as a spring or creek flowing nearby westridge trail camp this time of year. I know in summer it is a dry camp and you have to carry water in, but it has been a wet year and wondering if their is water flowing now. Thanks.

I really doubt it Dan. As you can see, we have some sprinkles going on today. We would really need a big storm to dump enough rain to make a water source there. I would just haul in some water. Pretty hike that is too BTW!

Hi Ken,

Thanks for your advice, I might filter some water along the way from one of Aptos Creeks tributaries, there should be water in them and then carry several liters a couple of miles to camp.

Dan, those streams are a definite. Good idea! Have a fun hike. Please post some pictures because I don't feel that there are a lot of folks that think about going there

Yeah sure will post some picks. It is definitely a hidden gem in SC County and I don't think many people in this area even know there is a trail camp located there. It is one of my favorite places to hike along with Mt. Madonna.

Hi Ken,

There are a lot of good trails, mostly shared with horses though, but their are few good hiker only trails. During the weekends during spring, summer, and fall there are a few hikers and a lot of campers and picnickers. During the week the place is pretty much deserted except for the park rangers. I hike there a lot because I live near it in Corralitos and use it to keep in shape. You should check out their website and maybe get a trail map. They usually charge 6 bucks for entry, but I never pay, I just park my car and hike. Anyway good luck!
