I've been contemplating the idea of picking up a 1yd or so to make lighter stuff sacks for my tents, and was wondering if anyone has an experiences working with the .50oz wt and the .75oz wt. I will be sewing them, not bonding. Is there a large difference between the two in terms of durability? Will they both tolerate stitching? Again, I don't intend to use it for high wear&tear, just simply stuff sacks. Thanks

Both nylon and polyester fabrics are very strong and should tolerate sewing quite OK. Small needle and light thread desirable.

The weak point is usually the seam. You must use a seam with folds and several rows of stitching (aka a French seam) to avoid having the edges unravel. This is critical.

0.5 oz or 0.75 oz? How rough are you with your gear? Try the 0.5 oz stuff and see how you go.

Cheers
