OK
I am packing. GPS ready, LiIon batteries stocked up, food… I think I have what I need.
Planned trek is Tahoe to Mammoth, reassess from there and continue on SHR if I feel like it.
Resupply will be tricky. So the heavy pack could be good to carry extra days of food. Bear can is per regulations… I am way too careful about things like laws and rules…
Weights are approximate, My scale is in storage for some reason… I wish I had an in-between sized pack, but am leaving regardless in about 4 days.
So unless someone in Truckee or Tahoe has one for dirt cheap… Also looking for adjustable ski poles for cheap or free in Truckee.I would give total weight for gear, skin out, etc… but ski gear, crampons are going on and off often. I am being fairly vague here. Not looking for gram nitpicking. That is better for summer weekend trips. I just want opinions.
I have two possible gear lists:

Hybrid list. Vote your choice. I was in the South San Juans May 28 to early June of 09 with a list similar to the light one so I think I am OK with that comfort level. Though this would be snowier… I didn't have the extra quilt in the San Juans and I was OK with the Ultra 20.Thanks!
