Looking for advice on a dry sack for my sleeping bag. Bag is a WM Alpinlite, regular length. Have been using a 2.7oz sil compression sack, but looking for something waterproof and perhaps lighter. Any preference or opinions on either the Granite Gear Uberlight (13L at .67oz.) or MLD Cuben drysack (12L at 1.2oz.),or something similar? I checked out the Sea to Summit eVent sil dry sack too, but am not too fond of the vertical shape and how it takes up a lot of space in the pack. What do you use?

Many people use a dry bag from Mountainfitter.com. Good price and good quality. I have a WM Ultralite-Long and it fits nicely into the 12×20 model. (think that's the size)

I really like the Granite Gear Event dry bags for my sleeping bags and clothes.

+1 for the Granite gear event. Mine is big enough that I can almost fill up the main part of my mld burn as a pack liner, or I can roll it down if I just want to put my sleeping bag and a couple other things in it.

And another vote for the Granite Gear eVent Sil Drysacks.

Good shape for fitting in the pack and (so far) have proved durable and waterproof.

For really extreme conditions (where the pack may be submerged on river crossings), I use an Ortlieb Vent bag – 3.8 oz for the 22l size.

I also use a sil GG eVent for my bag. I like the shape, love the ease of the eVent, and used it on a thru hike with no durability issues.

I use only one waterproofing bag. It protects everything.

It is a 2.2 oz HEFTY trash compactor bag.

It lines the interior of my small backpack. I use no other waterproofing. I put my quilt in a bivy sack as a sort of giant stuff sack, but mostly so both the sleeping bag and the bivy sack stay together.

Granite Gear Uberlite 13 L here. I haven't used it enough to know how well it is going to hold up, though. Before that, it was a Sea-to-Summit UltraSil dry bag which I've used for three years.

I found that two of either of these bags (one for sleeping bag, one for "clothing carried") are the same as or lighter than than a trash compactor bag used as a pack liner. I gave up the pack liner after finding it was taking 10-15 minutes extra to pack up every morning. I'd stuff a small item down in the pack only to have it pop right back at me thanks to the slippery plastic. Multiple repetitions of this routine every morning got old really fast!

How big of a trash compactor bag do you buy, the 13 gallon or 18 gallon?
I've never used plastic compactor bags in my Kenmore unit, and am considering purchasing them. A 13 gallon tall trash bag fits fine in the unit, but it looks as though Hefty only makes the 18 gallon. 18 gallons = 68 liters; do you cut off the top in smaller packs?

I use a 1.5 oz Big Agnes Pumphouse. It works as an airmat inflator as well as a dry bag. It fits everything I need to keep dry.
