Hello everybody,

I'd like to buy a WM Highlite and I was thinking about the lenght.

I'm 5.8 feet and 148 lbs.

I'd like to use it for a 40 days trail in the French Pyrénées.

Could you give me some advices about the place in the bag regarding my weight and my lenght ?

Thank you and sorry for my English :)

You should be a great fit for the regular length. I owned a Highlite and while it was a great bag, the lack of a full zipper limited its usefulness for hot summer nights to me. I replaced it with a Summerlite and was much happier even with the trade off of 3 ounces and some more money.

I was also watching for the Caribou and the Summerlite but I don't think the lack of zip is a problem for my utilization: I will sleep most of the times under 60°F

As an ex-user what is your opinion about the "sleeping comfort temperature" of this bag ?

I'd like to sleep at 30°F, in a Golite Shangri-La (with nest) and I'm a "warm sleeper".
Am I silly ?

Sorry for these questions but it isn't possible to see this bag in France.

Thank You.

I only took the bag down to the mid 30's, but don't see why you couldn't push it to 30*F with some additional clothing if you sleep warm.

Sebastian
I am of your same size and have used the Highlite (180cm ) down to around 4c with some minimal clothing.
(merino T and thin merino bottoms)
at your size you can still layer up inside it so you may be comfortable down to 0c or just slightly less.
I have switched to the Summerlite mostly because I like to use them quilt style (when I can)
I have not used the Summerlite any lower than about 6c (that I can think of…) but It wold be a bit warmer .

Also be aware that if you pitch the Shangri-la close to the ground, combined with the inner-net and extra clothing can be quite warm.

Thank you for your answers.

I think I'm gonna buy the Highlite.

Franco and Bradford, I don't want to annoy you, but do you have pictures of this bag ?

Thank you for your advices.

WM Highlite @ Hobbs Cabin 2006

I think this is the only image I have of the bag. I sold it in 2006 and lost most of my pics from that far back.
