Thanks. I'm going to try my recycled (pulled it from the trash) party table cloth as a ground sheet under my poncho tarp and neo air this coming weekend. I'll be sure to fill everyone in on how that goes. *crosses fingers* I'll bring a polycro ground sheet just in case.

I guess I will just buy some polycro heck for under ten bucks you can't go wrong i may also try a cut open contractor bag that should be pretty light about 2 ounces I would guess

The weight on the contractor bag may surprise you. A 39gal/147l 1.1mil "leaf bag" is 1.8oz/50g. Other than that, it's tough plastic and should do the job.

I have used LDPE (low density polyethylene) garbage bags. The 45 gallon size is big enough for a half bivy and has all kinds of emergency improvising potential. They are light, but not as tough as a contractor bag. Good pack liner too— trim to suit.

I have some party table cloths I got at a thrift store. They will work, but are very thin and not as tough as polycro. Good quick and dirty alternate if you are on the way to the trailhead and need one on the fly. Might last a 3 day trip.

On a whim I stopped into a Walmart this evening and found the Duck window kits on clearance. I bought a few of the 10 window kits which have 2 sheets that are each 62" x 210". They were $5 a pack. Each sheet weighs 155 grams. As a side bonus the kit also includes a couple 30yd rolls of double sided tape and a dozen alcohol wipes.

So I inquired about these Neat Sheets and looked online and I found them on some sites and tried to find their main website. I instead came across the parent companies website so I emailed them and here is what they said…

From Kimberly-Clark Corporation in regards to The Neat Sheet…

"Dear Kevin,

Thanks for your e-mail about THE NEAT SHEETᅵ Ground Cover.

Due to a marked decline in consumer preference, we are no longer manufacturing THE NEAT SHEET Ground Cover. We regret that some of our loyal customers will be disappointed and apologize for any inconvenience.

So I guess if you see these in a store and love the product I would buy them because they will be no more. Just thought I would give you all a heads up

For the record, it ain’t “polycro”, but “polycryo”!! Actually, methinks polycro sounds better but I lost a bet and a perfectly good bottle of beer over the correct spelling! :(

Polycryo

I'd ask Kimberly-Clark if they made anything similar.
