I really like the Osprey Rev 24. It may be a little heavy but carries really well and running in is no problem.

I’ll be doing the JMT with it. Got the sm/med and it fits likes glove.

I did the JMT in the Nathan 759 but it was so small that it felt like a brick on me.  I loved it’s plush shoulder straps and they are now on an REI 22 liter pack.

Take a look at the Ultimate Direction Fastpack 20L. I use it to run home from work with all my work clothes and crap stuffed in. It works great, rides well, excellent pockets.

I like having a hip belt with pockets.  I would like to try a full-on vest.  The Ultimate Direction 20L does also seem to be priced pretty high, unless you find a good sale, compared to a lot of the other 20L running-style packs.

Here’s a range of running packs in the 20-25L range, based on current Amazon prices:

Salomon S-Lab Peak 20: $217, ~17 oz

RaidLight Ultralight Olmo 20L: $205, 23 oz?

Montane Via Dragon 20L: $179, 13 oz

Ultimate Direction Fastpack 20 sm/med: $160, 19 oz

Montane Dragon 20L: $154, 16 oz?

OMM Phantom 20: $137, 8-11 oz depending on what’s removed

Salomon Agile 20 AW: $100, 21 oz

OMM Classic 25L: $90, 19-24 oz

Osprey Rev 24L  sm/med: $78, 18 oz

OMM Adventure Light-20: $78, 15-17 oz

inov-8 Race Elite 24: $78, 10 oz

Terra Nova Laser 20: $70, 12 oz

Terra Nova Laser Elite 20L: $55, 8 oz

I just recently threw away my Terra Nova Laser 20, the zipper running the full length down the back of the pack stopped working and if it fails try keeping anything inside the pack! I couldn’t trust it anymore, I didn’t want to be out and have everything falling out of the pack. I won’t buy a pack with that design again, which is too bad cause I liked the pack otherwise.
