I just wanted to thank all the gear list reviewers on BPL.
This year I will dump the pump and go with a gravity filter. Kicking the canister stove and using an alcohol beer can stove.
I am looking forward to a lighter season.

Kick the gravity filter and go with AquaMira drops repackaged in smaller bottles!
Mike — The plan is to use MicroPur and a charcoal filter. We don't have water sources above tree line because the entire state is below tree line. I will do some more reading about AquaMira.
I'm from Michigan too! I have a map right in my hand I keep it with me all the time.
AquaMira is used with great success by NOLS in India. A place with really questionable water. Success is quantified by the keeping records of people getting sick.
Okay, I will loose the MicroPur, but I am keeping my toilet paper!
I am iterating to a solution — I can only stand so many step changes.
