imusa mug weighs 3.4 ounces

stove feels about the same
so i'd say 7 – 7.5 ounces total

i really like this setup. there are a few reasons.
-that's good size pot, good enough 2
-the soot always stays outside the pot, no contamination when stored
-the fit
-you could use esbit inside the stove
-no need for another ground cover
-$14? are you kidding me? that's awesome!

A few days ago I found a siimilar container (same size but with a rim) in a "$2" type shop here in Melbourne.
110g (4oz) $4.50
The Ikea version is $4.99 here. They also have an 18cm tall version ,$10.99

Franco, is that $2 Australian?

Here in the U.S., we used to have a lot of "dollar" stores. Now the dollar stores are $2 U.S. Or, the Daiso stores (Japanese) used to be 100 Yen stores. Now they are $1.50 stores.

This is terrible. Now we are getting caught up in international currency transactions.

We had "$1" stores , and now we do have a .co shop called "two.dollar.com" selling that kind of stuff, but it is just a generic term.
BTW, the Aussie dollar is just slightly higher than the US $ at the moment.

Daymn! I missed the "titillation" shot…

I got one finished off tonight. The IMUSA 12cm cup fits like a glove, as does the MSR Titan. I have yet to try it, but Esbit and a pop-can alcohol stove should work fine, using this as a pot holder/windscreen combo. Mine hits the scale at 2.6oz/75g.

Another inexpensive pot that fits well is the Daiso 500ml teapot.

I just made one of these today.

I have an older GSI Dualist pot and while it does not nest in the stove it does sit perfectly on the rim of the caddy. The pot was built with a rim around the bottom. I set it on a couple bricks to get airflow coming from under the stove. I need to find something to support it in the field.

I will still be looking for a nice cheap pot that can nest inside the stove to pack as 1 contained unit.

Gotta love simplicity.

I made one of these on Friday and took it backpacking with me this weekend without testing it. It worked brilliantly, boiled 2 cups near-freezing water this morning in about 6 min 20sec in my Snow Peak Trek 700, which is slightly smaller than the stove. I will post some pics and maybe some video later.

What kind of tent stake do you use that could withstand the heat?

Titanium tent stakes are perfect for that.
