Does anyone have any experience with these? How is the durability? Do they stay where they are supposed to?

I'll be using them with mountaineering boots, if that matters.

I'm getting tired of replacing my OR Crocs every season when the stitching blows out.

I have a pair of the regular latok gaiters.

I can't say I love them, but then again, they are just gaiters. They do the job, but are starting to wear out after one year. I am pretty certain they will last about as long as my crocs usually do.

I might be going back to crocs because OR has always taken good care of me over the years.

Dude, my OR gaiters just blew out this weekend too. Where did yours go bad? For me, the bartacks blew out/ ripped the fabric on the inner ankle area. Specifically, the stitching that holds the rubber reinforcement that attaches to the underfoot strapping blew out. I thought maybe it was because I caught my snowshoes on them, but on closer inspection, there was no gash to the fabric that would indicate a crampon tear. That and I've used crampons/snowshoes enough to not catch them…so it looks like simple stitching blowout. Does OR cover these under these under their warranty for manufacture defects? Thanks

Outdoor Research's guarantee is among the best in the business. Send them back and get a new pair. Seriously, they will take care of you.

Konrad, it sounds like the stiching on yours failed just like mine. The overall fabric and the strap are in fine condition, so I know it's not due to abuse.

Of course OR has a great guarantee but I'd rather have something that doesn't fail to begin with. I'll probably stop by the Seattle store and see what they have to say.
