Hi all,
Iam in the process of makng a pack with a roll type closure. I was wondering what you MYOGers have found works the best.
FredFeb 19, 2011 at 12:56 pm #1698778Fred, I have tried it 3 different ways:
1. A single 3/4" webbing strap down the middle of the top of the bag. Like on my cuben bag I made. Link:
2. A double 3/4" webbing, one on the left and right spaced about 4" from middle. Like on my first bag I made. Link:
3. A Y shaped closure using 3/4" webbing. Like on my 3rd bag, Link:
All 3 work well at keeping the bag closed, it just depends what way you like better and how much weight you want to add to the bag with webbing and buckles.

On my last pack I used a roll down closure to secure the top.
You will have to scroll down a little to see the pictures of what I used to make my roll down closure after following the link.
BTW Cris's idea of stuffing the socks in the hip belt is new and different. My try at sock stuffed shoulder strap padding did not work out so well. I inquired as to how Chris's idea of padding the hip belt with extra socks worked out and he informed me that everything seemed to work fine. :-)
Party On,
Newton
