I just recently purchased the forerunner 205 and I am trying to learn how to use this as a navigational aid. I don’t necessaraly want to track my route waypoint to waypoint. I would rather use this to find my exact location relative to my map. The only problem is that I cannot find the precise coordinates on any waypoint I add to the unit. It only shows its distance from another waypoint. Do either of these units, or the edge series have the ability to show you coordinates? If not i was thinking of adding a “grid” of waypoints through topo so at least I can figure out what waypoint I am closest to and the distance from that point. I can then find my location on my printed map. It seems like alot of work so any suggestions would be great. Also, don’t hate on the model, it is the lightest version that will work for me. I need the highly sensitive chip to get a good signal under tree cover. I live and hike in the NE. Plus I already bought it, so help me work through these issues. I am sure others have had them.
Thanks for any of your suggestions.
